The premiere of the “charged” version of the model of the Japanese brand will take place at the end of next week, October 7, at the Subiefest festival in Florida (USA) .

For the Subaru brand, the States remain one of the priority markets: it is not surprising that it was the Americans who were the first to receive the new generation WRX sedan. Let us remember that the model changed its name Impreza WRX to simply WRX back in 2014, and in September 2021 the Japanese company completely declassified the current four-door. During the last generation change, the model moved to the modular platform SGP (Subaru Global Platform).

Now the Japanese manufacturer is working on creating another “charged” version of the sports car – the Subaru WRX TR . The company promised to soon hold a presentation of the “hot” new product, noting that it is intended for “enthusiasts.” This four-door will debut at the Subiefest festival in Florida, which will be held at the end of next week, October 7.

Subaru accompanied the announcement with a single teaser: the picture shows a wheel with a dark gray alloy wheel shod in low-profile rubber, in the center of which The emblem of the Japanese brand is located. Behind the rollers you can see red Brembo brake calipers. Details about how the version with the addition of TR to the name will differ from other versions of the WRX will obviously be revealed during the premiere.

The length of the current sports sedan is 4669 mm, and the distance between the axles is 2672 mm. Its front part with head optics, radiator grille and bumper shape is the same as that of the Subaru Levorg station wagon presented in the USA. The four-door also has plastic linings on the wheel arches and lightweight aluminum front fenders. The model is equipped with either 17- or 18-inch wheels.

The current Subaru WRX is equipped with a 275-horsepower 2.4-liter FA24 turbo engine, its maximum torque is 350 Nm. In the basic version, this engine is paired with a six-speed manual, and a continuously variable automatic transmission is available for an additional fee. The drive is all-wheel drive only.

Now the Subaru WRX sedan is presented on the American market in four versions — Base, Premium, Limited and GT. At the same time, the cost of the current top version is $43,395; such a car has electronically controlled shock absorbers, electric Recaro bucket seats, Comfort, Normal and Sport driving modes, which determine the settings of the engine, gearbox and suspension. This sports car has a modified chassis: the suspension includes lightweight Hitachi shock absorbers, tuned by specialists from the STI division; This version was also equipped with more powerful (compared to other versions) Brembo brakes with golden calipers.
