< p>The design of the serial Honda Prologue electric cross was shown in October last year. Now the American division of Honda has shared details about the technology. Let us remind you that the five-seater Prologue was created specifically for North America, and this is not an independent development of Honda: the SUV is based on the Ultium platform of the General Motors concern, on which, for example, the “green” Chevrolet Blazer EV and Chevrolet Equinox EV are also built. By the way, the electric cross of Honda’s premium sub-brand – Acura ZDX (but it has a different filling) is based on the same “cart”.
The length of the Honda Prologue is 4877 mm, width – 1989 mm, height – 1643 mm, distance between the axles – 3094 mm. The declared trunk volume is 714 liters (according to American methods), with the backrests of the second row folded, this figure will be 1634 liters. The company itself did not report about the front compartment, but local specialized media write that it does not exist.

The crossover will be offered with one or two electric motors, that is, with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Moreover, for an additional fee, a dual-engine installation can be ordered both for the basic EX version and for the “medium” Touring configuration, but the top-end Prologue Elite has it by default. The power of each engine has not yet been announced, but the total output of the all-wheel drive cross is known — 292 hp. and 451 Nm. There is only one battery so far — with a capacity of 85 kWh, the power reserve of the front-wheel drive version is 483 km according to the American EPA cycle. The model is equipped with a DC charger with a capacity of up to 155 kWh (by the way, the related Chevrolet Blazer EV has a DC charger of 190 kWh).

All versions of the Honda Prologue have a virtual instrument cluster (11 inches), a multimedia system with an 11.3-inch touchscreen, eight airbags, wireless smartphone charging, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control and a set of Honda Sensing safety systems (adaptive cruise). control, auto braking systems, lane keeping, etc.).

Starting with the Touring version, a leather interior, “memory” settings for the driver’s seat and a panoramic sunroof appear. The top version of the Elite also has ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display and a Sport driving mode. The crossover in the EX and Touring versions sits on 19-inch wheels, while the Elite has 21-inch wheels.
Honda said the Prologue will start at around $40,000, before taxes and shipping, but also before incentives. For comparison, the price of the related Chevrolet Blazer EV is at least $56,715 (the Chevy electric car also had a “budget” version for $45,000, but in the end it was abandoned).
In the US, sales of the Honda Prologue electric crossover will start next year. And in 2025, the brand intends to introduce an electric car of its own design to the American market.
