Large crossover Lexus TX, brother of the Toyota Grand Highlander: sales have begun

Currently, the premium SUV is available with two powertrains to choose from. Next year, a top-end rechargeable hybrid will hit the market.

The Lexus TX three-row crossover premiered in June. Now in the United States, configurations and prices have been revealed, in addition, the model configurator has launched on the local Lexus consumer website.

Recall that the TX was created specifically for North America, where it essentially replaced the deceased Lexus RX L (the new generation Er-X does not have a stretched version). The closest relative of the new premium crossover is the Toyota Grand Highlander: both models are built on the GA-K platform with a transverse engine. The length of the Lexus TX is 5159 or 5169 mm (depending on the version), the wheelbase is the same 2949 mm as the Grand Highlander (but this SUV is shorter).

Now the new Lexus is offered in two modifications. The initial version of the Lexus TX 350 is equipped with a 2.4 petrol turbo-four with a power of 279 hp. (430 Nm) and an eight-speed automatic transmission, this crossover comes with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The Lexus TX 500h (the car in the live photos) is an all-wheel drive hybrid (without the ability to charge from a power outlet) with the same 2.4 turbo engine, a separate electric motor on the rear axle and a six-speed automatic transmission; the total output of this crossover is 371 hp. and 555 Nm. The hybrid SUV comes standard with the F Sport Performance package and a fully steerable chassis. And next year another version will reach dealers — the rechargeable hybrid TX 550h+ with an installation based on an aspirated V6 3.5 and an electromechanical variator (total power — 412 hp).

The Lexus TX 350 is available in three trim levels – unnamed base, Premium and Luxury. And only the last two versions are provided for the Lexus TX 500h. The arsenal of the cheapest crossover includes: LED optics, 20-inch wheels, a seven-seater interior, heated front seats, an electric tailgate, wireless charging for a smartphone, a multimedia system with a 14-inch screen, ten airbags and the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 complex ( adaptive cruise control, auto braking, lane keeping, blind spot monitoring, etc.).

Starting with the Premium version, a panoramic roof, ventilated front seats, electric folding of the third row and a parking assistant appear. The Luxury version also includes additional leather trim, atmospheric lighting, a heated steering wheel and second-row seats.

Options include 22-inch wheels (the hybrid has them by default), separate captain's chairs in the middle (heated and ventilated), virtual tidy, digital interior mirror (the image from the camera is displayed on it), traffic jam assist system, head-up display.

Price Lex us TX 350 ranges from $55,050 to $62,550, Lexus TX 500h will cost $69,350 to $72,650. The Lexus price list already includes delivery, but taxes are not taken into account. For comparison, the related “traditional” Toyota Grand Highlander with the same 2.4T costs $43,070 — $53,545, the Toyota hybrid cross (it has two systems, one is the same as the Lexus) will cost $44,670 — $58,125 (excluding taxes , and delivery).
