Aston Villa manufacturer Castore will offer a range of solutions to the club's wet shirt problem amid optimism the problem will be resolved.
Telegraph Sport understands Castore has identified the cause of the problem and were keen to provide Villa with at least two options that they believed would help solve the problem.
One of them is believed to be that Castore will provide Villa with a completely new batch of playing shirts with an alternative that will most likely be minor changes to the current included.
Given the colder weather and Villa's good results this season, it was understandable that the club might not want to supply a whole new batch of shirts to players who might be superstitious.
That's why Castore is believed to have done it too. We are working to find a way to make changes to the current kit that could significantly improve the performance of the shirts in the Premier League and Europe.
Castore has not commented on the situation, but an industry insider believes that the Villa shirts' ability to effectively absorb sweat was affected by an imbalance related to the club's main sponsor's logo, rather than due to poor quality fabric.
Villa players did not comment on the situation. complained that the shirt was soaking wet and heavy with sweat, and sources said they felt like they had jumped into a swimming pool.
Telegraph Sport reported that Villa and Castore had negotiated a contract cut at the end of this season, when the Midlands club are expected to switch kit manufacturers.
Although this issue has caused some confusion for Castore, the British manufacturer is expected to take over as Everton's kit supplier from next season.
It is understood that Castore is not the only manufacturer experiencing this type of problem, but some The biggest brands in the market have already fixed this. The issue has not been made public.
In a statement, Castore said: “There has been some speculation in the media about a potential problem with football kits supplied by Castore to Aston Villa Football Club. We are working closely with the club to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and meet the standards we expect. We would like to thank the club for their patience and support to date.
“As a proud new British brand, we always hold ourselves to the highest standards and strive to do everything we can to continually improve the performance of our products. This means that any customer concerns should be resolved promptly and humbly.”
