The SUV will have a refreshed exterior design, and there will most likely be new things inside too. In addition, in some markets the equipment may be replaced.
The full-fledged Toyota Corolla Cross crossover has been in service since 2020; it is built on the same GA-C platform as the Corolla cars (sedan, station wagon and hatchback). The world debut took place in Thailand, and now the local division of the brand has announced a restyled SUV. Let us note that today the Corolla Cross is a truly global model; the five-door is sold in almost all regions of Toyota’s presence, and the appearance and equipment vary depending on the market. That is, it is not at all a fact that in other countries the SUV will be updated in the same way.

Judging by the teasers, the Thai crossover will have modernized optics: the headlights seem to have the same shape, but the diode filling is new, like the Toyota Corolla Cross for Japan or Europe; the “filling” of the rear lights will also be refreshed. In addition, the SUV will get a new radiator grille (again, in the style of the model for the Japanese market), and the bumpers will probably be different.

The interior is not illuminated yet. It is assumed that a new multimedia system will be installed inside, plus the model may receive different finishing materials. It is also possible that the work of electronic assistants will be improved and the composition of the equipment will be revised.

Some Asian specialized media believe that following the Japanese version, the purely petrol Thai SUV Toyota Corolla Cross will switch from an aspirated 1.8 (140 hp) to a two-liter naturally aspirated engine (in the brand’s homeland it produces 170 hp). The HEV hybrid (without the possibility of charging from the electrical network) will most likely retain the 1.8 engine with a power of 98 hp, but the output of the electric motor may increase (the total power of the pre-reform hybrid version in Thailand is 122 hp). In this country, the model comes only with front-wheel drive.
The presentation of the restyled Toyota Corolla Cross is scheduled for February 8.
