“From February 2, it is planned to resume performances on the main stage… The performance of “The Taming of the Shrew” on the main stage of the Satire Theater, scheduled for February 1, is canceled due to carrying out a set of works to restore the full functioning of the theater,” according to the theater’s website. It is noted that the audience will be refunded in full in the near future.
Previously, showings of the play “Attic of Satire” were canceled until February 4 inclusive.
On January 28, the press service of the capital’s head office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that firefighters were working at the Satire Theater in the center of Moscow, where smoke was coming from under the dome. It is noted that 21 units of equipment and 76 rescuers were involved in extinguishing the fire. Later, the press service of the capital's head office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the fire in the theater was extinguished in 250 square meters. There were no injuries.
