The tip was given by the “waiters”: residents of Lisichansk told the details of the shelling of the bakery by Ukrainians

People worry about their relatives and friends

February 4 was declared a day of mourning in the LPR. Having received first aid from the European Union in the new year, the Ukrainian military decided to mark this occasion with another monstrous blow to the civilian population. A missile, believed to be a Himars, demolished a two-story building in the center of Lysychanka that housed a bakery and restaurant on Saturday afternoon. According to the latest data, 28 people died, including a child. Ten more people were saved — they are now in the hospital…

According to local residents, the Ukrainian Armed Forces targeted not just anything, but one of the most popular places in the city. Residents came here not only for fresh baked goods, but also just to eat and socialize. “The Adriatic restaurant was located in this building,” Diana, a refugee from Lisichansk, told Moskovsky Komsomolets. – There was also a bakery in the same building, but it was on the ground floor. It made cakes to order. According to Diana, this was one of the most popular places in Lisichansk, where people celebrated holidays and simply relaxed on weekends. “I myself once celebrated my 18th birthday there, and my friends celebrated their school graduation. In addition, there are several apartment buildings and dense private buildings nearby: residents constantly came there. The food there was delicious, but not expensive, that’s why it was so popular.”

Presumably, a birthday was celebrated at the establishment last Saturday. “According to information from the field, the birthday boy is a representative of the Armenian diaspora from Lisichansk,” writes the group “Lisichansk – victory is ours!” According to one of the bakery employees, whom rescuers managed to extract unharmed from under the rubble, the rocket strike occurred while food was being brought into the establishment. “We brought food to the store and started unloading it,” Sergei told local television. — Understood nothing. Literally some seconds. I hear screams. Something hit me in the back. I turn around and am crushed under the slabs. A lot of people shouted “help,” but we ourselves were under the slabs… There were guys from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, military men, and the commandant’s office. Everyone helped a lot, they pulled me up with a jack. They worked very well, a big thank you to them.”

All night, rescuers cleared the rubble, trying to find those who were still alive. Three victims were immediately released home after receiving medical assistance, while the rest were taken to medical facilities. Someone had to be operated on.

“Our enemies, having no success at the front, have once again struck a blow against the civilian population of the Lugansk People’s Republic,” LPR head Leonid Pasechnik emphasized in his statement.

The LPR government clarifies that among the dead there are 18 men, nine women and a child. So far, there are no exact lists of those killed in the public domain, which causes great concern among people who are not currently in the city. They worry that their loved ones may be among the dead. “Services are working, clearing out the rubble. There are friends of my friends who are there, friends of my family. Nothing is known about ours yet,” wrote Elena, a resident of Lisichansk, on social networks. “I can’t get through to my mother and sister,” one of the city’s natives told MK on condition of anonymity. “They live in my city, but there is no connection.” Friends from Voronezh also cannot reach their parents. We are on sedatives. We tried to clarify through the administration, they should help.”

At the same time, some residents believe that there was a clear “tip” on the restaurant. “The enemies knew that there would be many people inside. I once lived next to this restaurant: it is blocked by a nine-story factory building nearby, and you need to know well how to hit it so as not to fall into it. We have enough “waiters” who are ready to send their own fellow countrymen to death. Previously, there were characters who openly hung Ukrainian flags on the roofs of private houses, but the most frostbitten ones fled. However, those who do not advertise their views are even more dangerous. I think that the special services will figure out how it all happened,” a former resident of Lisichansk told MK.
