BELGOROD, February 15. Five people died in Belgorod during rocket fire from Ukraine, the regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel.
“According to preliminary data, five people were killed in Belgorod, including one child, another 18 people were injured, five of whom were children,” the publication says.
The shopping center on Plekhanov Street was severely damaged , in which there is a Magnit store and a pharmacy. Glass in the building was broken and the façade was damaged. Cars parked nearby were also damaged.
In addition, various destructions were recorded in seven private households.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Ukraine attacked the Belgorod region with the RM-70 Vampire MLRS, Russian air defense shot down 14 shells. The shelling occurred around 12:30 Moscow time.
Before this, the head of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, and the Belgorod mayor’s office reported about the missile danger in the city and the Belgorod region.
The correspondent reported that in the center of the city about a dozen loud explosions were heard in the sky, after which the siren turned on.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces regularly shell the central and border regions of Russia, carry out drone strikes and organize sabotage.
In the Belgorod region there is a yellow level of terrorist danger. It involves intensifying the work of law enforcement agencies, conducting searches at train stations and other crowded places, placing medical organizations on high alert, and strengthening the security of strategic facilities.
