MAKHACHKALA, February 19 Pop singer, Honored Artist of Dagestan Huseyn Manapov died at the age of 61, the press service of the republic’s Ministry of Culture reported on Monday.
“The day before, at the age of 61, Huseyn Manapov, a famous pop singer, arranger and performer of folk songs, Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan, suddenly died,” the message says.
Manapov was born on July 5, 1963 in the high-mountain Dagestan village of Salta. He began to get involved in music while still a young man, and in 1991 he wrote his first song called “Cloudy Day”. He was awarded orders and medals for his achievements and contribution to culture.
«The artist's folk songs and soulful voice were loved by many listeners. One of his most popular compositions is “And you will fade like a yellow leaf,” the ministry noted.
A year ago On the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, Manapov and chanson performer Mukhtar Khardaev went to the zone of a special military operation to escort humanitarian cargo from the Kayakent region of Dagestan. The district administration reported that «on the front line, the artists performed songs on the guitar on patriotic themes, raised the morale and mood of the military personnel» .
