Putin: Russia can become a leader in the development of creative sports

KAZAN, February 21 Russia can become a leader in the development of creative sports, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
““In my opinion, this will be interesting. And we really, apparently, can even become leaders in the development of these creative sports, which are becoming more and more popular among young people around the world,” Putin said at a meeting with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In addition, Putin praised the delegation from Kazakhstan, noting the potential of the team of Kazakh athletes.
“»Your guys-athletes came here and will compete in 13 disciplines. Your team is so serious, there are many creative young people. It was even unexpected for me that such a representative delegation is from Kazakhstan,» the president said.
Tokayev said that as soon as he learned about the “Games of the Future”, he immediately ordered to assemble a strong team. “As soon as I found out that such games would be held, frankly speaking, I called the ministers and gave instructions to form a strong team… I hope that here we will not let the organizers of these competitions down, we will raise the appropriate level,” said the leader of Kazakhstan.

The «Games of the Future» will be held in Kazan and Sochi from February 21 to March 3. This is the first international multi-sport competition in hybrid disciplines. Each of them combines the concept of “phygital” (physical+digital), that is, it combines classical sports and e-sports or VR/AR technology.
