Kazan announced the possible postponement of the World Aquatics Championships to 2031

KAZAN, February 26, Adela Ziatdinova. The Ministry of Sports of Tatarstan is in dialogue with the International Aquatics Federation (World Aquatics) regarding the holding of the World Aquatics Championships in Kazan in 2031, said the Minister of Sports of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov.
In 2025, Kazan was supposed to host the World Aquatics Championships, but World Aquatics decided to postpone the competition due to the situation in Ukraine.
“We are in dialogue with World Aquatics for 2031. Our world championship was not cancelled, but postponed, so we are putting together a plan for organizing the championship,” Leonov said.
