The Pentagon believes It is doubtful that the Russian Armed Forces will be able to organize a major offensive as part of a special operation in Ukraine. This statement was made on Thursday, March 28, by the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Charles Brown.
According to the American military, in 2023, the Russian army spent significant resources during a special military operation in Ukraine.
Commenting on the likelihood of sending ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles to Ukraine, General Brown assured that “the risk of escalation is not as high as it may have been at the beginning of the process.” He did not confirm that Washington had made an unequivocal decision to transfer these missiles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but said that such a step no longer threatens a significant escalation of the situation.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin called for increasing the capabilities of strike weapons in order to save the lives of soldiers during offensive actions. Military expert, member of the presidium of the All-Russian organization «Officers of Russia», reserve lieutenant colonel Roman Shkurlatov, named the new products of the Russian military-industrial complex, which have become a threat to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky admitted that the Ukrainian military is not ready for effective defense in the event of a major Russian offensive. The politician explained this by the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have almost no artillery left at their disposal.
