Depardieu's harassment trial will take place in October

PARIS, April 29The trial of French actor Gerard Depardieu on charges of harassment will take place in October 2024, Agence France-Presse reported, citing the Paris prosecutor's office.
“Depardieu will stand trial for sexual harassment in October 2024,” the prosecutor’s office said.

On Monday morning, Gérard Depardieu was taken into custody at a Paris judicial police station for questioning in connection with allegations of sexual assault made by two women. In the evening, the actor was released.

We are talking about complaints filed by members of the crew of two films: one comes from a production designer who participated in the filming of the film “Green Shutters” in 2021, the second from former assistant director of the film «The Magician and the Siamese» during filming in 2014.
In March, BFMTV reported that based on the first complaint, the prosecutor's office opened an investigation against Depardieu, which became the third case opened against the actor amid numerous similar accusations.

In mid-February, the newspaper Ouest France, citing sources, reported another complaint filed by an unidentified former assistant director, who, according to her, was harassed by Depardieu during filming in 2014. It was noted that the Paris prosecutor's office has begun a preliminary investigation.

An investigation is already underway against Depardieu on suspicion of harassment of actress Charlotte Arnoux. In April last year, the online publication Mediapart published a material in which it collected testimonies from 13 women who claim that they experienced sexual assault by the actor. We are talking about episodes that took place on the sets of 11 films and TV series between 2004 and 2022.
Depardieu, who celebrated his 75th birthday in December, has always denied any accusations against him.
