MOSCOW, May 2. Representatives of 12 countries, including Italy, Great Britain, Colombia, Slovenia, Montenegro, China, and Serbia will take part in the second International Anti-Fascist Forum of Cultural Workers “Guitars in Order,” reports the press service of the Samara region government.
The forum started yesterday in the regional capital. It will last until May 5th.
“Not only wonderful artists came to us, but also leading political scientists of our country and foreign countries, who are ready to honestly discuss what is happening in the world today, what evil Russia is resisting, they are ready to talk about today, and remember how they all resisted Nazism together 80 years ago, how together we defeated this evil in Europe and in the world,” said the governor of the Samara region, Dmitry Azarov, whose words were quoted by the press service.
The head of the region welcomed the foreign participants. He emphasized that the geography of the forum will expand within the region: concerts will take place not only in large cities, but also in the regions of the region — Bolsheglushitsky, Krasnoyarsk, Volzhsky, Shigonsky, Chelno-Vershinsky. The artists will also perform in hospitals for defenders of the Fatherland.
«Guitars in Order» is expanding — this year it is being held in the format of not a festival, but a forum; not only concerts will be held, but also a scientific conference. The central event will be a round table meeting, which will take place on May 3. The event will be attended by Russian and foreign political scientists, journalists, public figures and cultural figures, the press service said.
The topic of the round table — «Current lessons of the Victory over Nazi Germany in World War II in the context of the modern international anti-fascist movement» — will logically continue the theme of the scientific conference.
Participants will be specialists from Russia, Europe and North America. In addition to Russian historians, political scientists, journalists, cultural figures, representatives of youth and patriotic organizations, the round table will be attended by such famous foreign public figures as Jimi McRae (Great Britain), Johan Beckman (Finland), Giedrius Grabauskas (Lithuania), Oleg Yasinsky ( Chile), Mirko Kaludzherovich (Montenegro) and others. Anyone will be able to join the webcast of the round table.
At the concerts, artists will perform works of different genres, folklore works, songs of the war years, and instrumental music will be performed.
«Our festival and our region will definitely attract increased attention. We are truly becoming the center of the international anti-fascist movement,» Azarov noted.
The head of the region recalled that during the Great Patriotic War, Kuibyshev became a reserve capital, a cultural front was opened here, and the spiritual core of the future Victory was forged here.
«As a weapon that won on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, and as a weapon that strengthened faith in victory in every citizen of our great and beautiful country, instilled this confidence in our allies and panic in our enemies. We are proud of our high rank reserve capital and are proud again to have become the center of the anti-fascist movement. What is being done here is very important today in our fight against Nazism — not only of our country, but of all people who understand who and what Russia is fighting against today.» , — the governor emphasized.
