Bentley unveils open-top Mulliner Batur with W12 engine

The expensive two-door with a powerful 6.0-liter engine will be released in a limited edition: it will include only 16 copies.

Bentley is part of the German concern Volkswagen, the brand develops and produces luxury cars. In August 2022, the brand presented a limited-edition Batur coupe from the court body shop Mulliner (18 units in total). Let us remind you that the name Batur is a reference to the volcanic lake of the same name on the island of Bali (Indonesia). Now it’s the turn of another exclusive new product – the Bentley Mulliner Batur Convertible.

The edition of the luxurious two-door with an open top is also limited, it is limited to 16 copies. Each of these cars will be equipped with a 6.0-liter W12 biturbo engine, its output is 750 hp and its maximum torque is 1000 Nm. Let us remind you that this engine will be discontinued in the summer of this year. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is available.

The exclusive roadster is based on the Continental GTC, while the Bentley Batur Convertible has a two-seater interior layout. The second row seat takes up space for luggage. The new product has a soft folding roof; the transformation process takes 19 seconds. The top can be folded or raised when driving at speeds up to 50 km/h.

The list of features of the Batur Convertible includes a small spoiler integrated into the trunk lid, as well as a body-colored Airbridge deflector located behind headrests of the driver and passenger seats (this element helps optimize air flow).

Customers wishing to purchase a new product have access to various customization options. By the way, the choice of body colors for the Bentley Batur Convertible includes not only the Mulliner palette, but also the color of the buyer's taste, as well as hand-made graphics. The radiator grille can be designed in such a way as to create the visual effect of a smooth transition from one color to another.

This car was painted in two layers, and the gloss lay on the matte paint; he got a color called Vermillion. In addition, the same shade can be seen on the inner surfaces of the radiator grille, which allows for an additional three-dimensional effect. The prototype was also equipped with original 22-inch wheels with orange elements.

Future owners of exclusive roadsters will also be able to customize the interior. In particular, we are talking about the use of rose gold: the corresponding elements for the engine start button, air duct controls, steering wheel trim, gear selectors and driving mode selection are created using 3D printing. The interior of the pre-production Bentley Batur Convertible also received this design.

Note, despite the imminent retirement of the twin-turbo engine W12, the new product will not be the last model with this engine. The company noted that they will release another exclusive car. It is known that its circulation will consist of only 12 copies.
