Deputies decided not to make secret the vote for deputy prime ministers
There is less than an hour left before the procedure for confirming deputy prime ministers in the State Duma, but deputies cannot remain silent. The Duma members have already lifted the veil of secrecy and admitted how they will vote. One thing is already clear: the split among parliamentarians went along social lines.
Today at 10 am in the State Duma a plenary meeting starts, at which the new composition of the Cabinet will be approved. A day earlier, candidates for deputy prime ministers communicated with deputies at the level of relevant committees. And now the people's representatives hastened to the press to share their impressions of yesterday's conversations.
It must be admitted that not everyone was happy with them. For example, the social sphere, for which Tatyana Golikova was responsible in the government (and will be responsible if she is approved). All factions except the “New People” had questions about her. Well, or they simply did not publicly express their complaints. The leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov told reporters that the communists will abstain from voting on Ms. Golikova’s candidacy. True, Gennady Andreevich made it clear that the candidate for social deputy prime minister was still lucky. Regarding Anton Siluanov and Maxim Reshetnikov, the Communists will vote against. Socialist Revolutionary leader Sergei Mironov also expressed a number of complaints regarding the social sphere: poverty and inequality, migrants. And he also said that his faction on the candidacy of Tatyana Golikova would abstain from voting.
“United Russia” turned out to be somewhat softer. Deputy Tatyana Butskaya emphasized that the social committees in the State Duma last Sunday met for four hours (the rest, on average, met for two). And in the end, they supported Golikova, giving her a kind of credit of trust for the future.
— We, of course, supported our social vice-premier Tatyana Golikova. But they said that we support Tatyana Alekseevna, but we really count on her,” Butskaya said.
The behind-the-scenes discussions of colleagues caused sincere bewilderment in Leonid Slutsky.
— I don’t understand my colleagues who vote against, understanding that these government members will be appointed anyway, said the leader of the LDPR and named the recipe he needed, in his opinion: “We must plow together.”
