Sales of Chinese models assembled in Belarus will begin in the Russian Federation next month. Now details about the configurations of five- and seven-seater SUVs have become known.
The fact that the Chinese brand VGV will enter the Russian market became known at the end of 2023; the distributor of the brand’s products is Motor Place LLC. The first-born in the Russian Federation will be the mid-size crossovers U70 Pro and U75 Plus (in fact, these are two varieties of the same car). Yesterday in Moscow there was a Russian presentation of these models, during which it was announced that SUV sales will start in June of this year.

Serial production of five- and seven-seat crossovers U70 Pro and U75 Plus, intended for the Russian market, has been established at the Belarusian production site «Unison» (located near Minsk). Now the machines are produced using the large-unit assembly method, but in the future the VGV brand intends to organize full-cycle production.

In the Russian car market, the VGV U70 Pro will be presented in three trim levels: Comfort, Lifestyle and Executive. The first two versions offer both five and seven seats in the cabin, the third option is available only with a seven-seat layout. The list of equipment for the basic version includes: LED head optics and lights, fog lights, 17-inch wheels, a 3.2-inch screen on the instrument panel, keyless entry and push-button engine start, a rear view camera, as well as four rear parking sensors.< br />

The starting version of the SUV uses fabric for the seats, and eco-leather for the steering wheel and door panels. For the second row seats, longitudinal adjustment and backrest tilt adjustment are provided. This car also has an audio system with four speakers, the ability to connect a smartphone via Bluetooth, tinted rear windows, a light sensor, driver and front passenger airbags.
The Lifestyle package differs due to the virtual instrument panel with a diagonal of 10.25 inches, eco-leather upholstery, a hood with pneumatic struts and the presence of cruise control. The top Executive version has a panoramic roof, a power sunroof, folding exterior mirrors, a power tailgate, 18-inch wheels, heated rear seats, a six-way power driver's seat, a six-speaker sound system and side airbags.

The VGV U75 Plus crossover will be presented in two versions on the Russian market: Executive (can have five or seven seats) and Premium (the interior is designed for seven passengers). Both versions have 18-inch wheels. The Executive's performance is richer than that of the U70 Pro. In particular, there is an all-round viewing system, a standard video recorder, as well as an expanded set of driver assistants (the list includes warning systems for lane departure and frontal collision). The Premium version has a panoramic roof and an electric sunroof.

Both models received an infotainment system based on Android OS with the ability to install applications. At the same time, the VGV U70 Pro crossover has a touchscreen diagonal of 10.25 inches, and the U75 Plus has 10.1 inches. The dimensions of the vehicles are the same: length is 4825 mm, width is 1870 mm, height is 1691 mm, and the distance between the axles is 2800 mm. The ground clearance for the U70 Pro is 200 mm, for the U75 Plus it is 190 mm. The trunk volume for seven-seat versions is 201 liters, for five-seat modifications – 501 liters.

The technology of front-wheel drive crossovers is different. Thus, the VGV U70 Pro is equipped with a petrol 1.5-liter turbo-four, the output of which is 143 hp and the maximum torque is 207 Nm. It comes with either a six-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Under the hood of the VGV U75 Plus is a 2.0-liter turbo engine producing 199 hp. (380 Nm), paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Starting prices for SUVs in the Russian Federation are already known: purchasing a VGV U70 Pro will cost at least 2,099,900 rubles, and the recommended retail price of U75 Plus is no less than 2,749,900 rubles.
