The coupe will be the first model of the British brand to be equipped with a new hybrid power plant based on a twin-turbo V8 engine.
The Bentley brand is part of the German concern Volkswagen and produces luxury cars. One of them is the Continental GT coupe, the production of which started in 2003, later an open-top version appeared. Over the past years, the model has changed generations twice, the third was introduced in 2017, and in June 2022, the sports versions of the Continental GT S and GTC S debuted. Now the two-door is preparing for the next generation change.

According to the company, the fourth generation Bentley Continental GT will debut next month. So far, the manufacturer is keeping the details of the appearance of the future luxury two-door secret, so in the first official photographs the prototype is “hidden” using camouflage film.
Judging by the photo, the models have changed the shape of the head optics: instead of “four eyes” it will have two separate oval headlights. The radiator grille remains almost the same, the mesh pattern has not changed, it is made in black, like the Continental GT S version. The central air intake, integrated into the lower part of the front bumper, is designed in a similar way, but the side air ducts are designed differently.

The lights extending onto the trunk lid have become larger and are now more elongated in the horizontal direction. The future coupe also has a different rear bumper, the exhaust pipes and the place for attaching the registration plate are designed differently.
It is known that the “fourth” Continental GT will be the first car of the brand to be equipped with a new hybrid power plant: Kolesa.ru talked about it in more detail last week. At the heart of the system is a V8 biturbo engine with a power of 550 hp, working in tandem with an electric motor. The total output is 782 hp, and the maximum torque is 1000 Nm.

The plug-in hybrid installation also includes a battery, but its capacity has not yet been declassified. It is known that when driving only on electric power, the coupe can travel up to 80 km on a single charge (when calculated using the WLTP cycle). The company said that the model will receive a new chassis, an all-wheel drive system with torque control and an electronic limited slip differential.
We would like to remind you that according to Bentley’s plans, by 2026 there will be no pure “hydrocarbon” models (there will be only plug-in hybrids). Around the same time, the first production Bentley electric car will hit the market, and by 2030 the entire line of the British brand will be fully electrified.
