The instant payment service Tinkoff Pay has launched its own payment QR code, which will allow offline customers to choose from several payment methods the most convenient and profitable at the moment. This was reported by the Tinkoff press service.
As noted in the company's press release, the QR code from Tinkoff Pay will become available on all Tinkoff payment terminals within 2024. It can be used by clients of all Russian banks.
Having scanned the QR code on Tinkoff payment terminals with a smartphone, the buyer opens a payment page with several payment methods in a mobile browser. Now a QR code from Tinkoff allows you to pay for a purchase using Tinkoff Pay and through the Fast Payment System (FPS). In the near future, the list of available payment methods will be replenished with the BNPL service Doli, SberPay and pay services of other banks.
“Over recent years, we have become accustomed to having a choice between different payment methods. Nowadays this is more common online: the availability of several methods, in addition to the usual bank card — pay services, installments, installment payment services, etc. — has already become the norm for most online stores. We saw a request from partners and clients to expand payment instruments offline. Therefore, we transferred the practice from online acquiring to trade — to offline stores. The QR code from Tinkoff, in fact, is the key to access different payment scenarios,” said Tinkoff Pay Product Director Nikita Buklish.
As the bank notes, for stores, expanding the number of payment methods allows increasing conversion, increasing the number of successful payments and, as a result, profit and the share of loyal customers.
“In an effort to provide maximum diversity in these scenarios, banks are integrating their payment solutions into each other’s QR codes. This technological partnership could become a defining step towards the creation of a single payment QR code — universal access to payment solutions of different banks, which could become a convenient solution for both buyers and stores, and for all banks,” he emphasized.< /p>
The message notes that owners of phones on iOS and Android can pay for purchases using Tinkoff Pay QR. To pay, you need to scan the QR code displayed on the terminal with your phone camera, select a payment method, check the payment amount and click on the “Pay” button.
