Speaking in Essex on Thursday to launch a general Labour's election campaign, Sir Keir attempted to portray voting for Labor as the only way to bring about «change».
The event featured the unveiling of a new six-point pledge card, outlining the promises at the heart of Labour's election campaign — what Sir Keir called «the first steps towards change».
In short in form they are as follows: “Ensure economic stability”; “Reduce NHS waiting times”; “Creation of a new border security command”; “Create Great British Energy”; “Combating antisocial behavior”; and “Recruit 6,500 new teachers.”
The idea of a so-called «bail card» was first floated by Sir Tony in the run-up to New Labour's landslide election victory in 1997, with the aim of effectively communicating its core policies.
During Thursday's event, Sir Keir spoke of «changed Labour,” which had echoes of Sir Tony’s “New Labour.” The criminal complaint also focused on anti-social behavior, an area that Sir Tony championed with the introduction of ASBOs — or anti-social behavior orders.
