LUGANSK, May 18. People's Artists of Russia Edgard and Askold Zapashny said that they are not afraid of possible Western sanctions because of their trip to Donbass.
Earlier it was reported that the Zapashny brothers brought the play “I100RIYA” to Lugansk as part of the tour of the “Big Moscow State Circus on Vernadsky Avenue”. The premiere of the performance was sold out. All proceeds from the performances will go to the needs of the Lugansk Circus.
«My brother and I have been under Ukrainian sanctions for a long time. I was twice included in the so-called “Peacemaker” website, my brother was also included there. To be honest, I don’t even know if we are under any kind of sanctions.» then under European sanctions, under the sanctions of the United States of America. We did not follow these changes in life, we did not leave our country, we did not move to these European and American countries (during the period of the Northern Military District — ed.),” said Edgard Zapashny.
He emphasized that he does not even know whether, in connection with their position and activities, they are allowed entry into a number of Western countries.
“My brother and I had a conversation when I said: “Askold, do you understand that the whole world can be closed to us?” Well, I just wanted to hear my brother’s reaction. To which he honestly replied: “Yes, I don’t care! Even if we can never go anywhere again, our country is mighty, great, huge! We will continue to live our lives here!» Therefore, we are not afraid of all these sanctions. We don’t have any business accounts abroad, real estate, or anything that could be lost abroad. And even if we had before, now “We would sincerely not give a damn about this,” said Edgard Zapashny.
