Deputy Gennady Semigin (SRZP) may in the near future resign from his post as head of the State Duma Committee on Nationalities. It is curious that the decision to replace him was made by fellow party members. “As part of rotation,” — this is how the leader of the Socialist Revolutionaries Sergei Mironov explained the decision.

— As part of rotation — you know that we have quotas for committees — the faction decided to dismiss the chairman of the committee on Affairs of nationalities Gennady Yuryevich Semigin, — said Mironov.

However, the chair of the head of the national committee will most likely remain with the socialists. The leader of the SRZP clarified that the faction recommended deputy Yana Lantratova to replace Semigin.

“I hope that in the near future the State Duma will consider and support this decision of our faction,” summed up Sergei Mironov.
