MOSCOW, May 25. Unmanned vehicles will be widely used for travel on Russian roads in 5-7 years, said the head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev during a speech at the PHDays 2 cyber festival.
«I have no fear, I have already traveled in an unmanned version several times, it is very cool. I think this is the near future. I would say it has been for 5-7 years — and this practice will become part of our lives,” Shadayev said.
He noted that the issue of driverless cars is related to the maturity of technology, safety, as well as how society perceives cars. “We see that we have unmanned food delivery drivers from Yandex, they cause, it seems to me, great emotion among people,” the minister added.
“I think all this will come in due time, the technologies are already ready,” Shadayev summed up.
