MOSCOW, July 26 Russian singer Shaman (Yaroslav Dronov), having performed at a rally in support of domestic performers at the US Embassy in Moscow, did everything right, expressing his civic position, believes Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. Shaman performed at a rally-concert near the US Embassy in central Moscow on Friday, July 19. The artist said that his performance was aimed, among other things, at protecting his colleagues, Russian artists who were blocked on the YouTube platform.

"Shaman did everything right, expressing his civic position in the way that is most accessible to him, doing what he does best," Peskov said during a meeting with participants of the "New Media Festival," commenting on the artist's performance at the US Embassy.

Earlier, a message appeared on the European Commission website stating that Shaman had been subject to new EU sanctions for supporting actions that allegedly «undermine the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.»
After which Shaman reported that his YouTube channel had been blocked, citing the fact that he is Russian.
The channels of Grigory Leps, Oleg Gazmanov, Yulia Chicherina and Vyacheslav Manucharov have also been blocked on the video hosting platform, the correspondent found out.
