Haval introduced two new crossovers and announced several more premieres

In native China, both fresh SUVs will be available exclusively with hybrid installations, and an all-wheel drive version is also provided for the older model. The novelties will go on sale this year.

In the photo of the Chinese Ministry of Industry, two of the latest Haval crosses were lit up back in February, and at the same time, the brand owned by the Great Wall concern distributed several branded pictures. At the end of March, trade names for the Chinese market were announced: the junior SUV was called Xiaolong, the second — Xiaolong Max (before the cars were known under the internal factory indices A07 and B07, respectively). And now Havale has revealed almost all the details, in addition, the models have their own pages on the brand's local consumer website. By the way, even though crossovers are namesakes, each has its own body and design, there are also differences in terms of technology. Let's start with the smaller one.

At the heart of Haval Xiaolong is the Lemon “cart”, on which all the latest Havals are built. Front — McPherson struts, rear — three-lever. The length of Xiaolong is 4600 mm, width — 1877 mm, height — 1675 mm, wheelbase — 2710 mm. That is, in terms of its dimensions, this cross is comparable to the Toyota RAV4.

Exterior features include a sleek electric car-style front end, T-shaped headlights and a split spoiler. In the cabin there are separate screens for tidy and multimedia systems, the first one being slightly recessed. The transmission control is entrusted to the steering column lever, and on the two-story central tunnel there are two platforms for wireless charging of smartphones at once. Trunk volume Haval Xiaolong — 420 liters, with folded second-row seats — 1175 liters. There are also 29 places to store small things. More models are promised six airbags, a panoramic roof, all-round cameras and a car park.

It is assumed that the total power of such a crossover is 190 hp. and 370 Nm. The SUV, according to the manufacturer, will be able to drive 96 km on electric traction alone (according to the WLTC cycle).

The Haval Xiaolong Max crossover is also based on the Lemon platform, but at the back it has a stronger multi-link, like the Dargo. In size, the senior SUV is close to the current Hyundai Santa Fe or Geely Monjaro: the length of the “Chinese” is 4758 mm, the width is 1895 mm, the height is 1725 mm, the distance between the axles is 2800 mm. At the same time, Max is strictly five-seater.

Xiaolong Max has narrower fanged headlights and a frameless grille. Interior features are a separate large multimedia touchscreen for the front passenger, unusual buttons on the center console, two different charging pads for smartphones (50 watts + cooling and 15 watts) and already 32 storage spaces. Max also has a head-up display and adaptive cruise control.

The older SUV is also only a hybrid, and it has two installations. The base one is the same as that of the “simple” Xiaolong, but the naturally aspirated 1.5 engine produces 116 hp. The second system was declared new, its Great Wall concern called Hi4 (HybridIntelligent 4WD), it includes a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and two electric motors (one of them is installed on the rear axle, that is, it is an all-wheel drive hybrid). The total power of the three-engine Haval Xiaolong Max is 279 hp. and 585 Nm. From standstill to “hundreds”, such a cross accelerates in 6.8 seconds, the declared electric range is 90 km (WLTC).

The public premiere of Haval Xiaolong and Xiaolong Max will be held at the Shanghai Motor Show, which opens in mid-April. Meanwhile, Havale promises several more new products this year: the H5 large frame SUV, the all-electric version of Xiaolong without a prefix, the upgraded third-generation H6 crossover and at least four rechargeable hybrids have been announced. Whether any of this variety will reach Russia is still unknown.
