Kingsley Coman took the opposite approach to Jack Grealish after his heartache at the World Cup, but the result was strikingly similar to the Bayern Munich striker.

Manchester City star Grealish overcame the injury caused by England's relegation from Coman's France side in Qatar by throwing himself into the chaos of New York and cataloging his tour of famous places from the home of Alone 2 on Instagram.

After the defeat in the final against Argentina, in which he saved a penalty in the shootout, Coman logged out of social media, turned off his mobile phone and stayed in a hotel away from land.

“I went to the Maldives with my wife and it was great, because we were in a hotel in the middle of the water with very few people, almost just us,” Coman said.

“I left my phone. besides, I was really thinking about something else and cleared my head, not thinking about football, not going to social networks, nothing. .jpg » /> Emiliano Martinez celebrating his victory over Kingsley Coman's penalty in the World Cup final. Just as Grealish's Lost in New York tribute inspired him to return in the best shape of his City career, Coman has impressed Bayern since the World Cup by scoring six of his seven goals this season since returning from Qatar.

As they prepare for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday night, Bayern's Coman and City's Grealish have a chance to further bury the memory of their World Cup relegation by heading to Europe.

«The first two or three days [after the final] were very hard, but after that it's life,» Coman, 26, said. “You can't change that, the only thing you can do is go back and work hard.

«I've always said that the best way to forget something difficult is to win something, so I thought: 'We'll give everything' and if we win the Champions League this year, I will be very happy. . I will never forget the World Cup, never, but it will still replace some of the feelings.”

Slowing down the pace, as he did after the World Cup, is not characteristic of Coman, who loves to live on the fast track on the field and behind outside.

“I love speed,” he said enthusiastically. in almost perfect English. “I like all fast cars. I love speed in general. When I was younger I loved karting, I also really like F1. I think I love everything that has to do with speed.

“But what I really love is not just speed, but high sensations. I love to feel my heart beating when it hits 100 beats per minute, I love it. That's what I love about football and that's why I love big games and playing big games, because those are the games that give you the highest feeling.

«Your heart beats at 150, it's really noisy, the level is high, every mistake can be a target and that's what gives me energy and what helps me wake up every day, even when you're in pain or when it's cold , and give it 100 percent.»

Coman's desire to endure tense moments is evident in his career, which saw him win 10 titles with Paris Saint-Germain. , Juventus and Bayern, as well as the 2020 Champions League in which he scored the winning goal in the final.

We spoke the day after Bayern were unexpectedly eliminated from the German Cup from -for Freiburg, and Coman explained that his hatred of defeat is perhaps even more motivating than the joy of victory.

“I really hate losing,” Coman said. “Sometimes I would say that I even hate losing more than I love winning. I must win. When you win a lot, obviously you can get used to it, but I will never get used to losing. Losing is the most terrible feeling, just like yesterday, when we left Pokal, the Cup, I did not sleep. It's not a pleasant feeling. I hate this feeling. When you hate to lose, you have to win every day.”

This victory in the Champions League final three years ago came against his former club PSG and Thomas Tuchel, who became his new manager at Bayern. .

«That's how football works,» Coman said. “It's amazing, anything can happen, and that's a good thing. When I first saw him [Tuchel], when I returned from the national team, he gave me a light slap in the face! He said: «I lost the Champions League final, it's true, now we need to get together.» It's great, that's football, anything can happen and it would be great if we win the Champions League together.»
