The British company Lotus is preparing another novelty, this time it will be an electric sedan, prototypes of which are already being tested on the road. Using the available spy photos, we imagined what the car would look like.
Lotus was founded in 1952 in Norfolk, in the east of England. It is known as a manufacturer of sports cars and has changed owners several times in its history, including General Motors and the Malaysian concern Proton. Since 2017, Lotus has been owned by the Chinese concern Geely Automobile, which has also affected the company's lineup, which has now refocused on cars with an electric power plant. The first such model was the crossover Eletre, which premiered in March last year.

Soon, a sedan will be added to it, which has already been seen by photo spies during the tests. While the body of the future novelty is hidden under a camouflage film, however, it is already possible to consider the main features of the appearance of the car. Its design will be made in the same style as the new crossover. The sedan will receive similar outlines of the front end, and the main difference from the SUV will be the narrow boomerangs of navigation lights, of which there will be four instead of two. The dipped and main beam headlights are also hidden in a wide contrast insert in the front bumper. Retractable door handles and cameras are similar to the Eletre crossover instead of rear-view mirrors, while the sedan will receive the original shape of the side glazing and moldings around it. At the back, you can expect the appearance of a horizontal LED strip across the entire width of the trunk lid, which has already become a characteristic element of many Chinese (and not only) electric vehicles.

The sedan is expected to receive filling from the top version of the Eletre R crossover, which is equipped with two electric motors (one on each axle), the combined output of which is 675 kW (918 hp) and 985 Nm of torque. Such a power plant allows, according to the manufacturer, to accelerate to 100 km/h in 2.95 seconds, and the maximum speed is 265 km/h.
The debut of the novelty may take place before the end of this year.
