Disney will dress up Mickey and Minnie Mouse in rainbow colors on their first Pride Night as the company escalates its war with Ron DeSantis over Florida's «Don't Say Gay» bill.
Disney says his favorite characters include including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, will be wearing special rainbow costumes at a June 13 event at a California theme park dedicated to LGBTQ culture.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, those who attend Pride Month after hours will enjoy Pride-themed entertainment, menu specials, merchandise and more.
On the poster of the event, the characters are dressed from head to toe. in the colors of the LGBT pride flag. Cartoon Minnie Mouse has a rainbow bow in her hair, while Donald has a bucket hat and a colorful T-shirt.
The 2024 presidential presumptive candidate, Mr. DeSantis, disagrees with Disney as he publicly denounced a law banning teaching sexual orientation and gender identity in elementary schools in Florida.
In response, Mr. DeSantis called the state's largest private employer «wake up» and threatened to revoke his special tax status.
