Six-year-old Kinsley White was shot in the face
A six-year-old girl and her parents were shot dead after a basketball rolled into their neighbor's yard .
Kinsley White was shot in the face when an irate neighbor opened fire after going berserk at a ball rolling towards his home in Gaston County, North Carolina at approximately 8:00 pm on Tuesday, according to the US channel WSOC-TV.
The girl's father, William White, was badly wounded while trying to protect his daughter from bullets and remained in the hospital as of Wednesday night.
Her mother, Ashley Hilderbrand, was hit by a bullet but has since returned home with her daughter to recover.
The suspected shooter is Robert Louis Singletary, 24, who is on the run from the police.
Neighbors said a group of children were playing basketball when the ball bounced into the yard of the alleged perpetrator.
Mr. Singletary reportedly ran down the street shooting at a neighbor before returning to shoot the family.

Kinsley, who needed stitches in her face from bullet fragments, said WSOC-TV: «We don't even know the man.
«Why did you shoot me and my dad? Why did you shoot the baby's father?»
A $1,000 reward for finding the suspect
Neighbors said Mr. Singletary was new to the area and regularly got mad at the kids in the neighborhood, the channel was told.
Mr. Singletary was charged with four counts of attempted murder in the first degree, two counts of assault. with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or cause serious injury, and one count of possession of a firearm by the perpetrator, local police said.A $1,000 reward was offered for helping to find and arrest the fugitive.
Ms Hilderbrand told the TV channel: “He looked at my husband and my daughter and said to them: I I will kill you.”
