The young Chinese company Human Horizons presented its third model, the mid-size crossover HiPhi Y, at the Shanghai Motor Show and announced plans to release to the global market.
Considered one of China's boldest EV startups, Human Horizons was founded in 2017 by entrepreneur Ding Lei (aka David Dean), who has extensive experience in leadership positions in the Chinese auto industry. HiPhi is a trademark of Human Horizons, under which it produces high-tech and very expensive electric trains with a spectacular design. The first model of the young brand was the HiPhi X large three-row crossover, which entered the Chinese market in 2021, followed by the large HiPhi Z sedan in 2022, and the HiPhi Y mid-size crossover debuted at the current Shanghai Auto Show.
Overall length HiPhi Y — 4938 mm, width — 1958 mm, height — 1658 mm, wheelbase — 2950 mm. The new crossover borrowed the platform from its older “brothers”: the front suspension is on double wishbones, the rear is multi-link. The basic version has one electric motor on the rear axle with a power output of 247 kW (336 hp). The all-wheel drive version is complemented by a 124 kW (169 hp) front electric motor for a maximum combined output of 371 kW (505 hp). The battery capacity supplied by CATL is 76.6 or 115 kWh, the power reserve on a single charge is from 560 to 810 km according to the CLTC cycle, depending on the modification. Top speed is limited to 190 km/h. Other specifications are yet to be announced.
1/3 2/3 3/3HiPhi Y, like the other two models of the brand, has a very intricate design: the door glass is frameless, and the rear doors are composite: synchronously with the main “gate”, part of the roof rises up along with the side glazing section. There are no door handles, they are replaced by small keys to unlock the lock and activate the electric drive. The tailgate is equipped with a large spoiler. Artificial vision organs (including lidar above the windshield) are integrated into the body, which are necessary for the operation of electronic driver assistants and autopilot. The interior design has not yet been declassified.
Human Horizons also announced at the Shanghai Auto Show that , which will bring HiPhi X and HiPhi Z to the European market this year, the first two branded outlets will open in Munich (Germany) and Oslo (Norway), then the sales network will expand to other European cities and countries, as well as to the countries of the Middle East. HiPhi Y will appear on the European market in 2024, and on the domestic Chinese market during 2023, there is no exact date and prices yet, but HiPhi Y is expected to be noticeably cheaper than HiPhi X (from 570,000 yuan or 6.74 million rubles in translation at the current rate) and HiPhi Z (from 610,000 yuan or 7.21 million rubles). jpg» />
In Russia, the HiPhi brand is not officially represented, but its electric cars are available from gray dealers.
