The Russian online car history check service Avtoteka (Avito project) has begun sharing data with the av.by classification. Now users in Belarus can purchase a single co-branded report on the history of the car on the website, including data from av.by and Avtoteka, and learn facts from the history of car operation in Russia and Belarus. You can use the vehicle's VIN to request a report. According to the Avtoteka service, more than 60% of checked used cars registered in Belarus have a history of operation in Russia.
Autoteka's unique database contains information on about 55 million vehicles, while data on 15 million vehicles is not available in other sources. The Autoteka report includes not only basic information about the car (registration data, the fact of participation in an accident, including those registered according to the European protocol), but also unique information — the history of service and repairs, data on mileage, the facts of the car being pledged, the use of cars by commercial organizations and more.
Thanks to the enrichment of the av.by database with information from Avtoteka, private users and professional car dealers in Belarus will be able to find out a detailed history of the ownership and operation of used cars in the Russian Federation. The reports also display information about collateral, the history of car sales on av.by. Full information about the history of operation will be of interest to all players in the used car market in Belarus, first of all, to check the legal risks for cars that were owned in Russia.
Used car dealers and professional sellers will be able to use the service to replenish their own warehouses with liquid lots. Private buyers will receive an effective tool for checking the history of a used car during its operation in Russia.
Dmitry Krylov, Leading Product Manager, Avtoteka:
“The close trade and economic relations between Belarus and Russia in the automotive industry create great potential for the joint development of the used car market. There are a large number of cars from Russia on the territory of Belarus, and the opportunity to find out their detailed operating history will be useful to all local participants in the auto business: from car dealers to professional and private buyers and sellers. According to our data, more than 60% of cars registered in Belarus and checked by Avtoteka have a history of operation in the Russian Federation. Standing for the cleanliness and transparency of the used car market, we are pleased to have fruitful cooperation with av.by.”
Andrey Karchevsky, Product Director of av.by:
“A lot of cars that were imported from Russia by private individuals came to Belarus at different times. These cars are still driving on our roads, sold and bought. We at av.by have been promoting the safe purchase of a car on the domestic market for several years now. Cooperation with Avtoteka allowed us to make significant progress in this direction and provide our users with information when purchasing cars. At the moment, a detailed check is available only for vehicles arriving from Russia. However, we are working to ensure that we provide the most complete history of any car sold in Belarus.”
