A body was discovered under a guest's bed in a hotel in Tibet after he unknowingly slept over it for several hours.

At first, the man thought that the strong smell coming from the bed at the Guzan Shuhua Hotel, was caused by his feet.

After sleeping for three hours, he was moved to another room due to the stench. The body was discovered moments later.

A man identified only as Zhang in local media said police had arrested a man linked to the case.

With its warm light and wooden balconies, Guzan Shuhua Inn is popular on social media as a photo spot.

Mr. Zhang posted a review of his stay online, which later went viral on social media.

In response, the hotel completely denied the incident.

Mr. Zang posted evidence of his stay by sharing his experience on the Chinese social network Weibo.

“I feel very scared, and I'm still struggling to sleep,» he said on April 30 during an interview with Shangyou News.

He said that he checked into the room on April 21 after resting for several hours. before leaving around 3:30 pm.

Mr. Zang smelled again when he returned to the room to change for dinner. He thought it might have been caused by the bakery downstairs, the heating system in the room, or his own feet.

After returning from dinner, the stench was so strong that he asked to change his room.

The suspect was arrested.

According to him, the hotel staff knocked on his door much later in the night, asking him to come into the room he had left.

The police officers present took his DNA and interrogated him. Mr. Zang was told not to worry as the suspect was arrested.

Investigators did not provide any further information, but a video was released showing the suspect being arrested on a train bound for Lanzhou City, in another province. .

Mr. Zang told local media that he went public with the incident due to the hotel's refusal to acknowledge it.
