Toyota Camry station wagon: what it can be

The Camry sedan is one of the bestsellers on the Russian market. We decided to present this model in a new body version, which, by the way, was once offered for it.

To date, Camry is the best-selling Toyota model in Russia, in addition, it is in the TOP-10 among all cars sold on our market, including Lada models. For example, in February 2019, the Japanese sedan took 8th place. Surely sales would be even more successful if there was a universal version in the model range. Such a car would find admirers both among ordinary motorists, especially as a family car, and in taxis, where the Camry sedan is often used. In addition, the wagon variant was in several generations of the model, starting in 1986 (V20), then in the 1992 XV10 generation. In some markets, the XV20 station wagon has also been offered since 1997, such as Australia.

A very successful design of the sedan allows you to give the station wagon a dynamic look. The base and dimensions remain the same, as does the entire front end up to the B-pillar. The rear doors are new, the window sill line is made ascending closer to the trunk. The tailgate glass has a fairly strong slope, so that the car does not look heavy. Luggage rails are also installed on the roof.

As for the technical part, for Camry it differs depending on the market. For example, in the UK there is a single hybrid variant with a 2.5-litre A25A-FXS petrol engine and an electric motor, with a total output of 221 hp. And in the USA, in addition to the hybrid, there are conventional gasoline versions with engines of 2.5 and 3.5.

Today in Russia Toyota Camry It is offered with three options for gasoline engines, the base is a 150-horsepower 2.0, which is estimated at 1,573,000 rubles as standard. A more powerful 181-horsepower 2.5 can be purchased for 1,756,000 rubles, and at the top of the range is a 3.5-liter version with 249 hp. in the Executive Safety package for 2,499,000 rubles.
