During the modernization of the SUV, the developers equipped the rechargeable hybrids with a new electric motor integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission.
The history of the full-size SUV Range Rover began in 1969, since then the model has managed to change generation several times. The current fifth generation debuted in the fall of 2021. Despite the fact that the current SUV entered the market not so long ago, Land Rover decided to update the SUV: the “adjustments” mainly affected the technology.
As part of the Range Rover modernization, the developers have changed the rechargeable hybrid installation. In particular, such SUVs received a new traction motor integrated into an eight-speed automatic transmission. Its return is 218 hp, while the indicator of its predecessor is 143 hp. The updated plug-in hybrids have increased their maximum range when driving in pure electric mode from 109 to 121 km.
The installation is based on the former 3.0-liter gasoline six-cylinder Ingenium biturbo engine. But because of the new electric motor, the total output of the power plant has increased, which is also reflected in the performance indexes of the updated Range Rover. So, the P460e version (respectively, the power of its system is 460 hp) replaced the P440e variant. The P550e (550 hp) is offered next in the range: it replaced the P510e. According to Land Rover, after the upgrade, the acceleration time from standstill to “hundreds” was reduced from 5.5 to 5.1 seconds for this version.

Another point of the Range Rover update: full electrification of the line. The fact is that now the “senior” V8 engine has received a 48-volt starter-generator in the appendage, so now it acts as part of a “mild hybrid” installation, the total output of which is 530 hp.
One of the main updates was the appearance of a new top version of the SV — Range Rover P615. Such an SUV has a 4.4-liter V8 engine under the hood, working in tandem with a starter-generator. Its return is 615 hp, and the maximum torque is 750 Nm. The maximum speed of this SUV is 260 km/h.
230 standard body colors, in addition, individual color is available. There are even more interior design options for Range Rover — 391. The updated Pivi Pro infotainment system with a 13.1-inch touchscreen is also included in the list of “new things”. In addition, adaptive cruise control has acquired an off-road mode, in which the speed of movement is automatically adjusted based on information received from cameras and sensors.
In the home market, in the UK, the starting price of the updated Range Rover remained the same as the SUV of the current model year: it is 103,720 pounds.
