At the first stage, the Chinese SUV is offered with a 1.5 turbo engine, but very soon the range will be expanded.
The public premiere of the FAW Bestune T90 cross with an atypical design for the rest of the concern's SUVs was celebrated in April at the Shanghai Motor Show. And now in China they have opened the acceptance of orders, and the model is still presented in a single configuration. The price is still preliminary, we will return to it later. The full price list will be published on June 18 – the start of “live” sales is scheduled for this date.

In the Bestune brand line, a fresh SUV occupied a niche between the T77 and T99 models. If we compare it with non-Chinese crossovers, then in terms of its dimensions the T90 is comparable to the Skoda Kodiaq: the length of the novelty is 4718 mm, the width is 1880 mm, the height is 1710 mm, the wheelbase is 2772 mm. At the same time, Bestune T90 is strictly five-seat.

External features – a two-story diode head optics (driving lights are located on top, blocks of the main headlights go below), a frameless radiator grille, “pulled up” lines on the sides, additional windows in the rear pillars and lights in the form of a single die. The crossover “stands” on 18-inch wheels.
In the cabin, an 8-inch instrument screen without a visor and a multimedia system with a 12.6-inch vertical touchscreen were installed. The latest tablet, in fact, replaced the familiar center console. Leather upholstery, wireless smartphone charging, climate control and cruise control are also announced as standard equipment. Expensive versions will have a panoramic roof, a head-up display, all-round cameras, an adaptive cruise and a lane keeping system.

Now the Bestune T90 is available for order with a 1.5 petrol “turbo four” with a capacity of 169 hp. (258 Nm) and a seven-speed robotic box with two clutches. Next, a crossover with a 2.0 turbo engine (252 hp, 385 Nm) and an eight-speed Aisin “automatic” will enter the market. In any case, the drive is exclusively front-wheel drive. By the way, local media are still predicting a hybrid version of the model, but there are no details about the installation yet. Again, the price is still preliminary, which means that in reality the SUV may turn out to be a little cheaper. For comparison, the same Skoda Kodiaq in China today will cost at least $27,000, and even a more compact Skoda Karoq is more expensive than the new FAW – from $21,000.
Most likely, later T90 will be exported, that is, there are chances of appearing in Russia.
Meanwhile, we will start soon assembly of the brother of the “ninetieth”: the pre-reform crossover Bestune T77 will turn into a new Lada model. But there is no information yet about the plans of the FAW concern to “share” the fresh Bestune T90 with AVTOVAZ.
