Teachers in the Taiwanese city of New Taipei were accused of drugging children in kindergarten. It's a scandal that threatens to thwart the city's mayor's presidential campaign.

Several parents began notifying police of their concerns in mid-May, and since then, more than a dozen parents have filed complaints.
“When I saw that my child still had traces of phenobarbital in her system, I was very upset and angry,” said one of the offended parents.
“I was angry with myself for not believing that my child was actually asking for help,” she said. «I hate those evil teachers who did terrible things to our children.»Taiwanese media reported that one of the teachers told the police that students were given cough medicine but with parental consent.
