It is assumed that such a crossover with a «sporty» appearance will join families next year. The premiere of the «ordinary» SUV of the German brand is scheduled for the fall of 2023.
The Volkswagen Tiguan crossover appeared in the brand's lineup in 2007, changed generation in the fall of 2015, and survived the restyling in the summer of 2020. At the moment, the German manufacturer is working on the third generation of the Tiguan. It will obviously have various modifications, including a «sported» version with the traditional addition of R-Line to the title.

So far, VW has kept the appearance of the future crossover a secret: only official pictures of the disguised prototype of the “ordinary” Tiguan have been published. By the way, earlier the designer Kolesa.ru suggested what the third generation Tiguan would look like. And now, the artist of the Spanish publication Motor.es offers his version of the potential appearance of the future SUV in the sporty R-Line. jpg» />Judging by the render, the new Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line will receive a narrower head optics than its predecessor. It will have C-shaped LED running lights around the headlights, and they will be connected to each other by a luminous strip running along a plastic strip under the hood. In the center is a large brand logo. The main differences between the R-Line variant are usually seen at the bottom of the bumpers.

The crossover shown in the image has a large black grille with a large mesh pattern, and on the side there are decorative “gills” with horizontal lines. Below you can see a small trapezoidal air intake with vertical slats. The designer also did not begin to draw a body kit made of unpainted plastic around the perimeter of the body for the next Tiguan R-Line. It is assumed that the rear lights will be interconnected across the entire width of the stern with a luminous strip; they will probably be designed in the style of the current Volkswagen ID.4 crossover. Note that earlier the company has already lit up the interior of the standard Tiguan of the third generation. A virtual instrument panel and a touchscreen of the infotainment system will be placed on the front panel, and for simpler versions, the diagonal of the latter will be 12.9 inches, and the top versions will receive a 15-inch horizontal tablet.
Under the multimedia display there is a touch unit for climate control, and the position of the automatic transmission is changed using the steering column switch. The new Tiguan will now have physical keys on the steering wheel: we recall that last year VW announced a gradual rejection of the dominance of touch buttons.

As a rule, modifications with the addition of R-Line (unlike R) have different appearance, but standard stuffing. Kolesa.ru previously reported that the third generation Tiguan in Europe will continue to be offered with 1.5 and 2.0 liter TSI petrol turbo engines; the 2.0-liter TDI turbodiesel with 150 hp will also remain in the range. The crossover also has a rechargeable hybrid with a larger battery (now 18.5 kWh); the maximum range when driving only on electric traction for such an SUV will increase to 120 km. The model will have two hybrid versions — with a total capacity of 204 and 272 hp. Later, the company will declassify information about the technology of the fully electric version of the Tiguan.
The world premiere of the third Tiguan will be held as part of the Munich Motor Show, which will be held in early September this year. The Tiguan R-Line is expected to be introduced in 2024.
