    Former Cabinet Minister Beats 'Chocolate Addiction' and Loses Nearly Five Stones

    Mr. Lewis said turning 50 made him realize “it's either now or never.”

    Former Cabinet Minister Brandon Lewis said he lost almost five stone after fighting “chocolate addiction”.

    The Conservative MP, who was Northern Ireland secretary under Boris Johnson for two years, said he decided to “go for it” and change his eating habits when he turned 50 as he thought it was “it's now or never”.

    Mr. Lewis, whose other past roles include being Attorney General and Chairman of the Conservative Party, said he lost a lot of weight after hedged unhealthy diet traps, including his preference for “junk food.”

    The senior quarterback told GB News: “I had one of those moments a couple of years ago when I was 50 and I was going through a physical and I just thought it's now or never.”

    “I've always thought that. . was big, so I just thought, right, I'm going to go for it.

    “Now I've lost about four and a half stone from where I was. I had a very strong addiction to chocolate and all those starchy, unhealthy foods you shouldn't be eating.

    “So I always joked to myself: just stop eating what you like. But now I'm just eating healthier and exercising a bit, but chocolate was my main problem.” p>Last year, Mr. Lewis revealed that he was bullied as a teenager for being dyslexic and overweight.

    He tweeted: “Older kids thought I was too dumb to achieve success, too fat to be taken seriously.

    “Intimidation is not a harmless rite of passage or an integral part of school life. And it should not be an inevitable part of our political life either.”

    The MP for Great Yarmouth told GB News the bullying “sort of changed my approach to things.”

    >”You get a little tougher, which is very good for a politician,” he said.

    “I just found it makes me work a little harder. I wanted to succeed, so you became a little more focused, a little more determined, a little more determined.

    “So in a way, I always tried to think of it in a positive way. It gave me slightly thicker skin and stronger skin, which I hope has served me well.

    “I think when you see bullying, usually the weakness is in the bully. Once you can figure it out, and once you're aware of it, then whether it's bullying or whatever, it's their problem, not yours.”
