Another Republican, Matt Goetz of Florida, has proposed banning all security assistance to Ukraine.
The move was rejected by an overwhelming majority of other Republicans and Democrats in the House of Representatives.

The «cultural war» provisions included in the bill are not encouraging. on the passage of the Democratic-controlled Senate, which will start discussing its own version of the defense budget next week.
Some of the most staunch conservative members of the House of Representatives have hinted that they will not accept a compromise with the Senate, staging another contentious standoff and plunging into uncertainty a number of U.S. national security goals.
«We're not going to back down, we're not going to back down, we're not going to give up on what's right,» said Scott Perry, chairman of the far-right House Freedom Caucus.
He said the powerful group is «using every tool at our disposal» to defend the conservative agenda. set out in a bill that he called «a huge victory.»The Senate is expected to pass its version of the NDAA later this month. The two houses will then have to agree on differences in each version of the bill, which will be put to a vote later this year.
