Manchester City has been given permission to build a hotel and a new entertainment complex next to Etihad Stadium as part of a staggering £300 million plan to increase the stadium's capacity to over 60,000.
In order to transform their home of Etihad into one of Europe's leading sports destinations, the city has been given the go-ahead to transform the existing site .
In addition to building a 400-bed hotel, the Premier League and European champions are set to build a city museum, a new club shop and workspace, and an indoor fan zone with a wide selection of eateries and drinks for 3,000 people.
They are to be fully integrated into the Etihad Stadium and centered around the expanded North Stand with one large, single upper tier above the existing lower tier.
Above the upper tier there will be a sky bar with a view on the field in addition to walking on the roof of the stadium.
In April the city submitted a full planning application and the proposals have now been approved by Manchester City Council.
