At the Munich Motor Show, Renault presented an extended version of the third generation Kangoo Grand Heel Passenger Heel: it has seven full-fledged seats for adults and a huge number of options for transforming the interior.
Not so long ago, minivans and compact vans made up a significant part of Renault's business, but due to changing market conditions, the once-popular Scenic and Espace monocabs turned into mediocre crossovers this year: the parked Espace debuted in March, the Scenic crossover premiered yesterday at the IAA Mobility exhibition in Munich, and today the new Grand Kangoo with a spacious 7-seater saloon was presented here — it should be a worthy replacement for the past Grand Scenic and Espace, especially since it is based on the CMF-C/D light platform with all the ensuing advantages, namely, a high level of comfort and modern electronic driver assistants — as many as 14 of them are announced for the new Grand Kangoo, including a second-level autopilot with traffic mode.

Recall that the standard short passenger Kangoo debuted in March 2021, the electric Kangoo E-Tech Electric debuted in October 2022. The overall length of the standard Kangoo is 4486 mm, the wheelbase is 2716 mm, and the interior is strictly 5-seater. The wheelbase of the new Grand Kangoo has been increased to 3100 mm, the overall length is up to 4910 mm. The length of the sliding rear doors has grown by 180 mm to 830 mm to facilitate access to the third row, where two full-fledged adult seats are installed. In the second row — three separate seats. Five of the seven chairs have Isofix mounts.

All seats in the second and third rows can be folded down independently of each other or completely dismantled. The back of the front passenger seat folds forward, which allows you to carry large loads up to 3.11 m long in the cabin. In total, Renault developers counted 1024 possible combinations of interior layout in the Grand Kangoo — there is no such variety in crossovers. The volume of the trunk for 7-seater placement is 500 liters under the shelf, and if you remove the seats of the second and third rows and fold the back of the front passenger seat, then the useful cargo volume reaches 3750 liters. For little things in the cabin there are various niches, pockets and hiding places in the floor with a total capacity of 58 liters. 4

The Grand Kangoo will have internal combustion engines and an all-electric E-Tech Electric variant. The latter is equipped with a single electric motor on the front axle (122 hp, 245 Nm) and a 45 kWh battery, a full charge of which is enough for 265 km of the WLTP cycle. The maximum battery charging power is 80 kW. The electric Grand Kangoo comes standard with energy-efficient dual-zone climate control with a heat pump, and optional heated front seats, steering wheel and windshield.

“Hydrocarbon” versions are a gasoline 1.3-liter “turbo-four” (130 hp, 240 Nm) paired with a 6-speed “mechanics” or a 7-speed “automatic” type DCT (with two clutches ) and a 1.5-liter turbodiesel (95 hp, 260 Nm) in combination with a non-alternative 6-speed manual gearbox. All versions are front-wheel drive only.
Sales of the new Renault Grand Kangoo in Europe will start at the end this year (prices not yet announced), deliveries in early 2024. The long-wheelbase «heel» will be produced in the same place as all other versions of Kangoo — at the Renault plant in the French city of Maubeuge.
