The world premiere of the third generation Peugeot 3008 is scheduled for September 12, but yesterday official pictures of the exterior of the new product, compressed to poor quality, leaked onto the Internet , and so that the public does not get a distorted impression, the Stellantis press service today published the same pictures in normal quality.
We already know a lot about the new Peugeot 3008: earlier this year, the French brand announced that it will become the first production model from Stellantis Corporation on the STLA Medium modular electric vehicle platform. In June we were shown the interior of the new Peugeot 3008 with a rather sculpted front panel topped by a 21-inch dual-screen panoramic display. In July, Stellantis Corporation revealed some details about the STLA Medium platform and published photos of the exterior of the new Peugeot 3008 in camouflage. Now the appearance can be assessed, so to speak, without cuts.
As you can see, in the new generation the Peugeot 3008 received a sloping rear and is now a coupe-shaped crossover. The Stellantis press service calls it a fastback, but judging by the official images, it is more like a liftback with a full-fledged tailgate, which, however, has not yet been shown to us in the open state. Due to the transition to electric propulsion, the new crossover has the letter E in its name; the official name is now Peugeot E-3008.

Whether the third generation French crossover will have “hydrocarbon” versions is still unknown. If they do, then they will most likely remain with the previous EMP2 platform — we have already seen a similar division by platform in the example of the new Mini Cooper: the electric versions have a new platform, the versions with internal combustion engines have an old platform.

The STLA Medium platform has a 400-volt electrical architecture and is designed for models of classes C and D with a wheelbase from 2700 to 2900 mm and an overall length from 4.3 to 4.9 m. Maximum battery capacity — 98 kWh, maximum range on one charge — more than 700 km according to the WLTP cycle. On the STLA Medium platform, you can make single-engine front-wheel drive or dual-engine all-wheel drive models; the maximum power of each electric motor can vary from 160 to 285 kW (from 217.5 to 387.5 hp).
