The original Chevrolet Captiva crossover is well known to residents of Uzbekistan, because it was assembled there until the fall of 2018. A three-row SUV made from the “Chinese” Baojun 530, which Chevy itself positions as a second-generation Captiva, was supposed to appear in the neighboring country as an imported model. UzAuto Motors opened accepting orders for such an SUV in September 2021, announcing prices and configurations. But already in November of the same year, the company stopped concluding contracts, and then returned their money to clients and even provided compensation. “This is happening for the first time in the history of the company, but we have repeatedly reported that today the global automotive industry is going through difficult times, and our company is no exception,” UzAuto Motors said then. Probably, there simply weren’t enough cars for Uzbekistan (the main habitat of the “second” Captiva is Latin America and the Middle East). And here's another attempt: UzAuto has again announced a crossover.

The previous time in Uzbekistan they were going to sell Captiva after the first restyling (it was carried out at the end of 2020). Now our neighbors have been promised a newly modified SUV, which has just launched on the Mexican and Middle Eastern markets.
Let us remind you that after the current modernization, Captiva partially returned to the design of the original “second” model, that is, the 2018 model. So, on the front bumper there is again an insert with “horseshoes” on the sides, the radiator grille and LED running lights located on top have taken the same shape, and a long reflective strip has again appeared on the rear bumper. Although there are also fresh solutions, among them are darkened chrome and new taillights. The length of the SUV is 4670 mm, the wheelbase is 2750 mm.

As in other countries, in Uzbekistan the Chevrolet Captiva will be offered with a non-alternative 1.5 petrol turbo-four; in the local version it produces 149 hp. and 255 Nm. The engine is combined with a CVT, front-wheel drive only.
There are three trim levels to choose from – LT1, LT2 and Premier. The arsenal of the basic crossover includes engine crankcase protection, 18-inch wheels, fog lights, rear parking sensors, six airbags, ESC, air conditioning, a multimedia system with a vertical tablet (10.4”), a rear view camera and cruise control.

Starting with the LT2 version, the Captiva has a seven-seat interior and a light sensor. The top-end Premier version also includes LED headlights, all-round cameras, climate control, a panoramic sunroof and front parking sensors.
Chevrolet Captiva sales will start in Uzbekistan in the near future, prices have not yet been announced .
