As journalists specify, the new Volkswagen Tiguan is built on the MQB evo platform, which is also used in other current models of the brand, including Passat (B9), Tavendor and Talagon. This crossover is equipped with a hybrid system that allows you to travel about 100 kilometers exclusively on electric power. In addition, the car is equipped with 20-inch wheels and has a body with an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.28 versus 0.33 for the old model.
The range of engines includes turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines, as well as hybrid power plants.
The new Tiguan is the first model on the MQB evo platform to be equipped with a new generation of matrix headlights. The external dimensions of the model have increased by 3 centimeters compared to the previous generation, while the height, width and wheelbase have remained unchanged. The luggage compartment volume has increased by 37 liters and now reaches 652 liters.
Tiguan received an improved adaptive suspension, comfortable seats with massage and ventilation functions, as well as a number of driver assistance systems, including assistant changing lanes and the possibility of remote automatic parking using a smartphone. The cabin is equipped with a digital instrument panel, a head-up display and a 15-inch multimedia system screen. The Tiguan transmission control has been moved to the steering column switch, by analogy with the new Passat and electric cars of the ID line.
