Both models are positioned as relatively inexpensive in their class, the Neta GT coupe is a completely new model, but the Neta X compact crossover — this is, in fact, a restyled Neta U.
Hozon Auto (aka Zhejiang Hezhong New Energy) was founded in 2014 by entrepreneur Fan Yunzhou, who previously worked at Chery and was responsible for electric models there . Today, Hozon Auto is one of the ten most successful and promising young Chinese electric vehicle companies, but this year its sales in the home market are declining due to the price war unleashed by competitors: in the first three quarters, Hozon Auto, according to CAAM, sold 81,582 cars, by 26.6 % less compared to sales in January-September 2022.
Neta X
Two new products should stabilize the demand for Hozon Auto products. The Neta X crossover presented today is nothing more than the restyled Neta U, produced since 2020. Neta U accounted for approximately a third of Hozon Auto's sales volume, now the baton is being taken over by Neta X. Compared to its predecessor, Neta X has a more laconic design of the front end and headlights without “smudges”, the new plastic “face” has slightly increased the overall length of the crossover, other key dimensions are not changed, the stern was not affected by restyling. Neta X length is 4619 mm, width is 1860 mm, height is 1628 mm, wheelbase is 2770 mm. The front suspension is McPherson type, the rear is independent multi-link.

The interior of the Neta X is completely new: the front panel is no longer with a two-screen display, but with separate instrument (8.9 inches) and multimedia (15.6 inches) screens. All climate settings are linked to the multimedia screen; there is no longer a separate touch-sensitive climate control unit on the center console; its place is taken by storage niches, cup holders and a shelf with wireless charging for a smartphone. Trunk volume — 508 l, with the rear seat backs folded — 1388 l.

Neta X is equipped with a single electric motor on the front axle, its maximum output is 120 kW (163 hp) and 210 Nm, the crossover accelerates to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds, the maximum speed is limited to 150 km/h. The battery capacity is 51.8 or 62 kWh, the range on one charge is 401 and 501 km according to the CLTC cycle, respectively. The minimum price of Neta X excluding promotional discounts is 126,800 yuan (1.69 million rubles translated at the current exchange rate).
Neta GT
The premiere of the Neta GT coupe took place back in April of this year, and sales began today. Overall length of the “two-door” is 4715 mm, width – 1979 mm, height – 1415 mm, wheelbase – 2770 mm. The front suspension here is already on double wishbones, the rear is independent multi-link. The brakes look modest, but Hozon Auto promises a braking distance of 32 m from 100 km/h to a complete stop on dry asphalt.

The Neta GT's interior has a 2+2 seating arrangement, the rear seats are purely nominal and have no headrests, but the front seats are very solid in appearance — with developed lateral support and plump integral headrests. The front panel is designed in the same minimalist style as the dashboard of the Neta X crossover, but the coupe has a larger, 17.6-inch multimedia screen. The equipment includes a high-quality audio system with twelve speakers. The coupe has two trunks — the main rear one with a volume of 297 liters and the front one with a volume of 50 liters.
Neta GT
The basic version of the Neta GT has a single electric motor on the rear axle with a maximum output of 170 kW (231 hp) and 310 Nm, it reaches the first “hundred” in 6.7 s, maximum speed is 190 km/h, battery capacity is 64.3 kWh, range on one charge is 560 km according to the CLTC cycle.
The all-wheel drive twin-engine version of the Neta GT has a total output of 340 kW (462 hp) and 620 Nm, acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.7 seconds, top speed — 190 km/h, capacity batteries — 78 kWh, range on one charge — 580 km.
Neta GT
Single-engine Neta GT costs 197,800 yuan (2.63 million rubles) in China, two-engine — 235,800 yuan (3.14 million rubles).
Hozon Auto electric cars are not officially presented in Russia at the moment, but they are imported by gray dealers, some of them are already accepting applications for Neta GT at a price of around 5 million rubles.
