A case of abuse of power was opened against the head of a municipal farm in Tolyatti

SAMARA, November 15 Investigators have opened a second criminal case for abuse of power against the head of the Tolyatti city department, who prepared documentation for the improvement of the joy stele-panel labor», limiting competition among companies, reported the investigative department of the RF Investigative Committee for the Samara region.
Previously, a criminal case was initiated against the head of the relevant department under the same article for producing false documents. They related to a falling tree incident in November 2022 that resulted in the death of a man. According to the documents, the tree was dead wood, the cutting of which was entrusted to the Zelenstroy company. The actions of the suspect would have made it possible to prosecute Zelenstroy employees and avoid criminal liability for administration employees. The suspect has been placed under house arrest.

Another episode concerns the preparation by an official of estimate and tender documentation for a municipal contract worth more than 37 million rubles, which involved landscaping the site of the “Joy of Labor” stele-panel in the Avtozavodsky district of Tolyatti. The suspect drew up documentation with conditions that deliberately limited competition and were prepared for a specific supplier.

«Based on this fact, another criminal case has been initiated against the head of the municipal services department of the Togliatti city district administration on the grounds of a crime provided for under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,» it says in a message from the regional investigative department of the RF IC.
The sanctions of this article provide for imprisonment from three to ten years.
