Former General Hodges: Ukraine should copy Nazi Germany in 1944
Ukraine can take Nazi Germany in 1944 as an example in terms of building up its air power. This is what the ex-commander-in-chief of the US Army in Europe, retired General Ben Hodges, says on the Perun YouTube channel.
"Think about what Germany did in 1944. Aircraft production for the Luftwaffe peaked in 1944… So I think Ukraine can repeat this with some efficiency,” — said Hodges.
He recalled that for more than two years before 1944, the Royal Air Force and the US Air Force bombed German cities to the ground. However, despite this, Germany's aircraft production was growing.
Hodges believes that Kyiv may begin using F-16 fighters in the summer of 2024, but for this, Ukrainian pilots will have to undergo a huge number of tests.
