The languishing company Haima wants to improve matters with the help of a spectacular and spacious single-volume taxi EX00, for which, allegedly, about 150 thousands of pre-orders. Mass production of EX00 will begin next year.
The Haima company from the Chinese province of Hainan was founded in 1992 with the aim of localizing Mazda models; in 2006, the Chinese state automaker FAW became the main owner of the company. Until 2017, Haima was doing well; by the end of 2016, it sold more than 250 thousand cars in China, and then the sales curve began to bend sharply. Today Haima is not even the third, but the fourth tier of the Chinese car market; its sales in the first 11 months of this year in China, according to CAAM, amounted to only 8,028 cars (-20% compared to last year), but the company stays afloat due to export markets: in particular, Haima returned to Russia last fall. In addition, the company has high hopes for a fundamentally new model under the IT Box brand.
IT Box is a subsidiary of the FAW concern IT company that has existed since 2013. It was the company that came up with the idea of creating a single-volume electric taxi: it was presented as a concept in 2021, and in two versions at once – the standard BM-400 and the extended BM-600. As it approached mass production, FAW involved the Haima company, which was losing its market, in the project so that it could at least occupy its production capacity with something. Now the taxi exists under a dual brand – Haima/IT Box. Outside and inside, the minivan is branded with IT Box logos, but even in press releases from the IT Box company itself, the new product appears as Haima EX00.

Haima EX00 is a development of the IT Box BM-400 concept; an extended version will also be available, but later. Overall length of Haima EX00 is 4500 mm, wheelbase is 2850 mm. The body has a specific landing formula 1+1+3, on the right side it has two doors (front hinged and rear sliding), forming an opening 1600 mm long when open, on the left side there is only one hinged driver's door. There is also a luggage door (there was none on the concept), but there is almost no space for luggage behind it – it is assumed that the bags will ride next to the driver, as in London cabs produced by LEVC (owned by the Geely holding).

The most trump spot in the cabin is the right chair of the L-shaped gallery: in front of it is the largest amount of legroom, and the chair itself is equipped with many adjustments, ventilation, massagers and a retractable leg support. A VIP passenger, sitting in a reclining seat, can enjoy movies and games on a 15.6-inch monitor that drops from the ceiling.
The cargo area to the right of the driver is so large (length – 2100 mm, width – 650 mm) that the driver can take a nap on it during breaks between shifts or at lunch, for which an appropriately sized inflatable mattress. An advertising light panel is integrated into the right side of the front panel of the cabin; a vending machine with food and drinks can also be installed in the cabin next to the central seat.
In technical terms, the Haima EX00 is quite simple: a single electric motor with a power of 120 kW (163 hp) located on the front axle and rotates the front wheels. The front suspension is McPherson type, the rear is semi-independent with a transverse torsion beam. The battery capacity is 62 kWh, the range on one charge is 480 km according to the CLTC cycle.

Pilot production of the Haima EX00 began back in November, last week they began accepting pre-orders for corporate clients and To date, according to the IT Box press service, about 150 thousand applications have been received for the taxi, although the price has not yet been officially announced. Mass production of the Haima EX00 and shipments of ordered machines to customers should begin next year.
