BELGOROD, January 2 The mayor of Belgorod, Valentin Demidov, said that the planned elimination of another unexploded shell is underway in Belgorod.
Previously, Demidov warned that explosives experts from the Moscow Defense Ministry were neutralizing an unexploded shell in Belgorod, people were transported to a safe distance. Later he informed that the ammunition had been destroyed.

On January 2, Belgorod was again subjected to Ukrainian shelling. In particular, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired 17 Alder missiles of their own design into the city and the Belgorod region during the day, all of them were shot down by Russian air defense systems. As Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov clarified, as a result of the Ukrainian strike on Belgorod, a man was killed and 11 more people were injured.
