On Saturday, the show “New Year’s Story” started in Moscow toys” with Alina Zagitova in the title role. The Sport correspondent attended a performance where the Olympic champion in figure skating appears in a new role for her.
In Moscow and not only now there are a lot of New Year's shows for every taste. Despite all the differences, they are all, by and large, about the same thing. Namely, about the fact that dreams come true. So, in “Evenings on the Farm” by Tatyana Navka, the blacksmith Vakula receives the coveted Oksana, Odarka is also not left empty-handed, and everything is fine between Solokha and the Devil. In Ilya Averbukh's performance, even the dream of a cow comes true, which goes out onto the ice and wins competitions.
Alina Zagitova, as a figure skater, also had all her dreams come true. She became Russian champion, European champion, world champion and Olympic champion. It is simply impossible to achieve more in her sport. And what do you want to do next?
After all, you and I, in order to achieve perfection, study and work all our lives. In sports, the culmination of a career occurs at a young age. And in the case of figure skaters and especially female figure skaters – for a young age. As, in fact, happened with Zagitova.
Of course, to the question of how an athlete should live next, there are standard answers. For example, become a coach. Or a manager. Or a politician. But the thing is that the first is not given to everyone, and the second, and especially the third. And often the soul is not in favor of all of the above at once.
Zagitova chose her path. She tries herself in new roles. The Olympic champion in figure skating has already been a boxer, a fencer, and a singer. These are just some of her “manifestations,” as the athlete herself puts it. 
At the same time, Alina is studying to become a journalist and every year she is penetrating deeper into this profession. Yes, Zagitova was quite rightly criticized for her first experiences as a TV presenter, but she is gaining experience and skill. This season, Alina’s video blogs as a correspondent for Channel One at figure skating tournaments are receiving extremely positive reviews.
On Saturday, the show “New Year’s Toy Story” started in Moscow, in which the Olympic champion has yet another “manifestation.” Zagitova dances in it without skates. The fact that she is amazingly flexible and can move is no secret. So choreographic sketches suit her very well. But there will also be a surprise in this show – very unexpected and stunningly beautiful: Alina will soar in the air!
Of course, the performance, which is built around the Olympic champion, is not limited to her dancing. The fabulous wish-fulfillment factory will show viewers masters of acrobatic rock and roll, aerialists, acrobats, and stuntmen on bicycles and motorcycles with stunts of amazing complexity. I wonder if Zagitova herself dreams of trying to be one of them?
In “New Year's Toy Story”, as usual, everything ended well. The dream of a little girl, broken by the awkward movement of a young wizard who, like in an old film, is just learning, was able to be put back together. This doesn't always work out in life. But when, if not on New Year’s Eve, can you believe in the best?!
